Bubble on your Naked Case?

Occasionally moisture can get trapped in between the face of the device and the case. This will cause a bubble effect when the membrane of the case comes in contact with the screen of the device .Please make sure your Naked case is clean of any oil, finger prints, or moisture prior to applying your Naked case.

We have been told by many customers that cleaning the inside of the case and the screen of the device with alcohol well help prevent the bubble effect. Or even a little bit of baby powder applied with a cotton ball will help absorb the moisture that is causing the problem.

I’m having the “bubble” problem with the Naked Case I got yesterday.
I am somewhat hesitant to put baby powder on my iPhone screen and the inside of the case’s screen. Couldn’t this potentially cause scratching?

  2. @Mike Napier: We haven’t had any reports that this was a problem, but your concern does make sense. The customer who provided the solution stated that only a very small amount of powder was used and it was first applied to a cotton ball. The cotton ball was then lightly dabbed on the inside of the touch screen.

We have had many customers who used a little alcohol as well and never saw the bubbles again. It would probably be best for you to try the alcohol first.

I cleaned the inside of the case and my iPhone screen with rubbing alcohol earlier today and I’m already seeing bubbles. It seems to be caused by the case’s screen “sticking” to the screen instead of just floating just above it.

I just talked to someone at Case-Mate and they told me to use baby powder. I wiped off my iPhone and used the baby powder to wipe everything down. No scratches on my iPhone and the bubbles are now gone… I will let you know If they come back. But for now It works great!

I tried the baby powder thing and it seems to have done the trick. No more bubbles.
Now if I could just stop lint from getting between the screen and the case when I carry it in my pocket.

Nothing keeps the bubbles off for very long. I’ve tried the powder and it works for a little while, but then they come back. Also, it does trap dirt under the case, so that when you remove it, it leaves scratches on your iphone. I’m not very happy with this case.

I have been using this case for about 3 days and for them most part I like it. It’s just the air bubbles under the screen are Horrible. I was wondering if anybody has tried putting a screen protector on before using the naked case? I might try that, but if it doesn’t work I will be looking for something else.

I bought this case with my Iphone 3g. It worked great for the first few days. After awhile it started to get some dust particles in between the screen and cover, presumably pocket lint or whatnot from the holes over the speaker and main button. I opened it up to clean it with an alcohol wipe. It has been terrible with the moisture/bubble problems ever since. I have tried baby powder, and it works only some of the time. The moisture always returns. Case Mate has made a defective case here and if they can’t solve the moisture problem they need to discontinue it. I don’t recommend this case and I will be returning it!

I bought this case with my my iphone a few days ago and while i love the idea that there is a hard surface between my iphone and the world, i don’t love the bubble effect. I also dislike the fact that a tiny piece of dirt can get in and be between the case and the phone… leading to a worse scratching risk than before. I tried the screen protector + case mate approach today and it still is bubbly; it is only a stopgap until I can (Hopefully) return the case and buy a traditional back cover with a nice, albeit soft, face protector. This product is shoddy but I’m not sure what could be done to ensure perfect pairing between the screen and the plastic…
